UPDATE | 15th National Campus Media Conference!
Mark Vergel Tobias, the Editor-in-Chief, achieved 6th place in the Backpack Journalism (Filipino) at the 15th National Campus Media Conference held at Angels Hills Tagaytay Retreat and Formation Center, Tagaytay City.
His notable outputs included two impactful stories: SPAM, Inc.: Ang Dati Kong Katunggali, which highlights Mrs. Angelica Maria Simpao-Seño's journey from competition to partnership in love and journalism, and AI: Kaibigan o Kalaban?, a discussion featuring Mr. Bryan Ocampo that emphasizes the role of campus journalists in an AI-dominated world, reminding us that "In this world of Artificial Intelligence, Campus Journalists shall be human."
He expressed his gratitude for the recognition, stating, "Honored and grateful to have secured 6th place in Backpack Journalism among 17 talented participants from over 800 delegates and more than 60 school publications across the Philippines. This achievement reflects hard work, passion, and dedication, marking an incredible journey of learning and collaboration. I share this victory, una sa lahat sa mga magulang at kapatid ko, mga kaibigan at kakilala ko. Thanks to my mentors/coach, instructors and teachers, to our adviser of Hinlok Student Publication, Doc. Maria Nica Domulot, to our Universiry Head of Publication, Doc. Christian Cariaso, to our supportive Campus Director, Ma'am Myra Liza Vizcarra, to our Director of Student Affairs, Ma'am Cecilia Garson, tpu our Vice President for Academic Affairs, Ma'am Lilian F. Uy, and lastly, to our University President, Pres. Roy Villalobos and the entire school community for their unwavering support."
